AFFILIATED ASSOCIATIONS As with most CIC groups , the Ohio contingent met informally ‘over the years’ , with no set schedule. At present, the meetings take place twice a year in Columbus for lunch and present a speaker on a topic of current interest. The attendees number between 15 and 25. Chuck Washbush, is presently the major mover for the Columbus group having learned of its existence from a friend ( Navy no less), Rob Doremus. Doremus, in his own right, deserves a sincere note of thanks for his service in Viet Nam as a Navy Pilot ; Rob was shot down and “enjoyed” the “comforts” of the Hanoi Hilton for seven years. Rob is an Honorary Member of the Columbus contingent. Stan Jaffe, SAIC, of the Northern Ohio CIC Group was invited to attend a Columbus meeting in October 2004. Until then, he had not had contact with any CIC people. With Chuck’s encouragement, Stan organized a second successful meeting which was held in December 2005 and served both Columbus and Cleveland groups. It is to be noted that through word-of-mouth, news media and the Golden Sphinx, CIC’ers are slowly coming out of the silent, hidden past and once again renewing a brotherhood formed in the Shadow of the Sphinx. Both Ohio groups demonstrate this. For the Columbus Ohio region, information, meetings and membership , contact : Back to Affiliated Associations |
